Joe obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto.
In 2002, Joe passed the Patent Agents’ Qualifying Examination on his first try and won all the prizes: the Marie F. Morency Memorial Prize for the highest mark on the drafting portion of the exam and the J. Edward Maybee Memorial Prize for achieving the highest overall standing in Canada.
Joe practices in all areas of intellectual property although his primary focus is patents.

Person
Joe loves the outdoors and outdoor sports, especially cross-country skiing, camping and hiking uphill. He has climbed many of the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks of New York State. Joe is a team player and enjoys hockey and curling several times a week.
