Gary is experienced in all aspects of intellectual property law and practice including patents, industrial design, trade-marks and copyright, as well as licensing, and technology transfer. Gary has an extensive engineering background in the oil, gas and mineral exploration industries and related technologies.
Gary has been the Canadian editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal and has been actively involved on a number of IPIC committees including the Joint Liason Committee – Patents and the Patent Legislation Committee.

Gary is the quintessential patent lawyer – he is always tending to stacks of files. It is rumoured that he owns a tie, but we haven’t seen it. Gary is also a huge Formula One racing fan and he also enjoys boating and spending time with his family.
